Town Tour (Deep Dive) - Besieged But Never Beaten

An extended version of our usual Besieged (but never beaten) Tour - this is perfect for anyone wanting to take a deeper dive into the history of the British Civil Wars. The Civil War Tour will take in historical sites of seventeenth century Newark, telling of how its inhabitants dodged cannonball fire and survived plague on a daily basis. From the musket peppered walls of Newark Castle, to contemporary visions of huge explosions that rocked the town. This tour runs for 150 minutes and includes approximately 3 miles of walking, taking in Millgate and Sconce and Devon Park. This Tour commences at the National Civil War Centre.
