Youth Engagement Officer

Fixed term contract initially to 31st March 2027, with the option to extend for a further year subject to Arts Council England funding.

Hours 22.5 hours per week.

Salary NS7 £28,598 to £30,024 per annum, pro rata.

We’re looking for a passionate and creative Youth Engagement Officer to connect with young people (aged 11–25) across the district and bring their ideas to life through inspiring cultural and creative opportunities.

As part of our Open Doors team, you’ll lead the development of creative programmes and activities across the district. Working with our Creative Influencers youth panel, you’ll co-create events, projects, and experiences that reflect what young people want—ensuring their voices influence real decision-making within our Heritage and Culture services.

You’ll be an engaging and empathetic communicator with experience working with young people and a passion for arts and heritage. In this role you will build trust quickly and inspire participation, particularly among underrepresented groups. You’ll bring strong organisational skills, a creative mindset, and the confidence to design and deliver impactful creative activities that support young people’s development and aspirations whilst increasing young people's involvement with The National Civil War Centre and Newark Museum, and the Palace Theatre, Newark.

Community Projects Manager

Fixed Term Contract to 31st March 2027, with the opportunity to extend for a further year subject to Arts Council England funding.

22.5 hours per week.

Salary NS10 £36,363 - £38,220.

We are recruiting a Community Projects Manager to oversee the successful delivery of participatory arts projects and activities with community groups across Newark and Sherwood. If you are an experienced arts project manager, passionate about partnership working, and care deeply about communities, the Open Doors team want to hear from you.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating and monitoring projects, including robust budget management. The ideal person for this role will have demonstrable experience of managing creative projects from inception to delivery in a co-created, participatory environment. You will have a proven track record of delivering funded projects, including comprehensive monitoring and evaluation. You will be a brilliant communicator and collaborator, experienced at working flexibly across multi-stranded projects.
