The Power of Place: History on your doorstep- with Historic England

This interactive day will explore: • Using timelines to link local, national and international history • Working with maps and aerial photographs to understand your locality • How to teach a local history unit based on the 900-year history of Newark Castle • Investigating local buildings to uncover stories and create engaging heritage trails The afternoon includes a guided medieval town trail, with practical tips on how to run your own, interpret architecture, and inspire questioning in pupils. A free lunch is also provided.
